Iron infusion in the UK and prices

If you have recently had an iron infusion in the UK and you paid for it privately would you mind sharing where you had it and how much it cost?

I live in london and prices are around £800.

I checked a clinic in Northern Ireland and the price is only £300.

so I’m at thinking if there are prices other places in the uk perhaps I could travel if it worked out cheaper.

also did you feel better quickly?

my doctor wont help and I am exhausted and run down all the time.

I had an iron infusion at the Oxford Iron Clinic two weeks ago. Mine was done under my work BUPA health insurance and cost me just £100 for my excess. If paying privately, the cost is £220 for the initial consultation then £570 for the actual infusion, so practically the same as London prices.

It’s still early days as the full effects aren’t seen for 4-6 weeks, but I already feel so much better. My utter exhaustion has almost gone, I’m nowhere near as breathless as I was and my mood is hugely improved.

I’ve been recommended to start taking iron tablets again from today but only one tablet three times a week so hopefully the awful digestive issues I usually get with oral iron won’t happen on such a low dose.

Glad to hear it has worked quickly for you :)

I am so fed up of being tired all the time I don’t feel like myself because of it
