In the news, protects against viruses & maybe allergies & maybe bacteria by "keeping the immune system on Amber alert"

Only sucessful in young mice so far.

Why wouldn't this idea have high risk of triggering auto-immune diseases and immune system over-reactions? Does anyone understand the biological science, especially why it's thought to be safe?

Was it tested in mice prone to auto-immune diseases yet?

Amazing technology isn't it?

Not sure what you're asking. It's not considered to be safe for anything yet is it if it's early days?. It's probably a way off human trials.

Seems to be in very early stages at this point and they've yet to do safety trials in people.

As someone who has an autoimmune disease I'd want to be very, very sure before I tried this, even if it passes safety trials. My immune system is already over-vigilant!
