High Platelets after transfusion for iron deficiency anaemia

Had a blood transfusion 4 units and a iron infusion as well as iron supplements due to severe iron deficiency anaemia. Had hysteroscopy done which showed thickened et. Haemoglobin was 44. Now its 133. Heavy periods being the cause?. Now platelets are very high. Anyone had transfusion then had high platelets? See Dr next wk

How high is 'very high'. Generally nobody cares that much about platelets until they are very very very high.

High platelets is a normal response to chronic blood loss and iron deficiency so it's most likely your body doing what it is meant to.

I will ask when I see the consultant thank you I thought it would be my body compensating for the iron deficiency as well thanks.
