Hi

I am getting really scared about some of these turns I am getting at night.
I have tried to sleep tonight with no luck.
It has been going on for 2 weeks now.
It seems to come on with a speeding up sensation in all of my body, and then it feels as though I am getting numbness, and weakness throughout my body.
I am getting so worried tonight I felt as though my eyes were going funny as if they were about roll up into my head.
I have been to my doctor a couple of times and they keep telling me its anxiety/panic attacks.
I just don,t feel convinced that its that.
It generally comes on when I am winding down at night or in bed, and I can,t take any more of it.
Tonight I have been walking around the block to try and ward it off, and I am scared to go to bed in case it comes on.
I am sitting here at the computer and I can feel it wanting to take hold as soon as I try and rest.
In the day I feel sort of okay but occasionally I do feel a little bit of the numbness in my arm that comes on with these turns.
I am freaking out about it.

I get something sort of similar i think, just as im at that really nice stage of drifting off to sleep i get a feeling like my head is speeding up, i cant even begin to explain what i mean, it sounds to strange. I have no idea what it is and it only happens once in a blue moon but it really isnt nice when it does happen, i think it may be something to do with anxiety, im just not sure what.

maybe if you are very stressed as your body starts to try and relax the sensation brings on like a panic???

it might help if you tell yourself at a certain time say 9pm its night time you will relax you will be calm you have a warm bath and setlle down quietly that in gradually settling you void the tight churning feeling to sleep then suddenly tebse again nd these symtoms begin?

But if it is anxiety, without any help from the doctor, you will just get in a viscous circle of worrying its going to happen, and then it does etc IYKWIM.

Did the doctor offer any help? There is medication you can take (beta blockers, some ADs that have an anxiety profile, couselling etc)

You need to break the cycle.

Good luck
