Eczema on my 2 year olds scalp and affecting sleep

My son (2.5) has eczema and have managed to treat behind his legs and other areas of his body for now, but now it has developed on his scalp and keeps waking him up in the night with constant itching. He hasn’t slept properly since. I’ve tried lathering lotions on but they then make his hair dry and sticky, which I assume itches. I’ve tried bathing him earlier in the day to prevent his hair having any moisture in before bed. Window open and radiator off to cool the room before bed. Cotton pjs. Tried lots of different creams and solutions but finding it hard to know what to do for his scalp. Any suggestions would be amazing. Thank you!

We used to lotion my daughters scalp 30 mins before every bath then wash out with water, minimal shampoo if any. GP advised us that everywhere gets lotioned except scalp which is no surprise that it gets dry.
We used QV cream (pump bottle) as we do all over body (advised by private eczema specialist dr) and found it not to be greasy.
