Small vague spots over 2yo body..what is it?

I am not concerned, just curious really.

She has some red raised marks on her face, like a small rash, only three or so, not inflamed, or itchy, or at least does not seem to be.

So I had a look and she has a few here and there over her trunk, only probably around 20 in total, but her skin appears a bit 'bumpy', sort of like exczma I guess, in a couple of places too.

Its only come up in the last couple of days.

Could it be exczma? Brought on by the weather?

The spots don't look like chicken pox spots.

ds had this yesterday - small raised spots in lots of areas of body, and a bumpy look
I am presuming it is heat rash as it was warm here yesterday and we were baking in the car for an hour or two

i will watch this thread for other ideas

franny - yes like that on her too. Sort of heat rash, some spots, but that are hardly noticeable, well some are some are not.

But it has not been hot here , well not cold but not too hot over the last couple of days. Maybe its just a by-product of the heat generally over the last week...

hmm
I don't know
he had another odd rash a few weeks ago as if something had been biting him, so I did extensive googling of rashes at the time
I do think ds has got heat rash right now - it's the all over bumpiness
have you been using sun cream on her? could it be a reaction to that?

pavlovthecat · 15/06/2008 12:24

franny been using the same cream as always Nivea children, and not in the last couple of days.

Not worried, just unusual to see such perfect skin marked like this! (well apart from the constant bruises on her shins these days )

Could it be hives? I know my DS is prones to coming out in hives over his face and body if he gets too hot or cold. It doesn't seem to bother him at all

My dds both have increased eczema right now, and it does look like that, in places - I even thought it was the stsart of chicken pox on dd2 (dd1 had it four weeks ago) but no, eczema.

molluscum spots?

Or simply post viral rash?

maidamess · 15/06/2008 15:15

My ds (5) had this, and I think it was a reaction to suncream and heat. So we use sensitive sun cream now and have had no repeats.

Funny, today, the spots have almost gone . Still there under the skin she has like 4 red actual spots, almost like whiteheads today, but thats it, the rest, a slight raised bump under her belly skin.

Odd, and clearly nothing to be concerned about, she is her normal self

Maybe it was just a heat rash
