I took high-strength cocodamol in early labour and it completely whacked me out for 4 hours!

Then I had gas and air and was totally off my tits!

expatinscotland · 15/06/2008 00:33

Whatever they gave me before I went in to have my ACL reconstructed was some good shit!

The surgeon could have told me he was going to saw my leg off and I'd have been happy with that.

Salamander · 15/06/2008 00:35

Co codamol high strength and 800mgdose of brufen and severe toothache = extreme dizziness!!!!

Gas and air funny.DP said I sounded pissed and did'nt stop talking....

emma1977 · 15/06/2008 00:37

I was wittering on about the cat all the way through labour thanks to the G&A.

Don't take any sleepers with cocodamol if you are already a bit whoozy, especially not if you have had a drink too- dangerous combo.

expatinscotland · 15/06/2008 00:38

Not recommended, but after having a wisdom tooth that had grown in straight, but become absessed, removed, the oral surgeon found bone spurs on my jaw.

So he shaved them off.

Then gave me lots of pain relief.

Well, that evening, a friend came over, and I took a couple of bong hits of some bud he had grown.

I was wicked stoned.

expatinscotland · 15/06/2008 00:41

G&A just made me stoned. But not in a good way. The stuff I grew in Colorado was better and lasted longer, too.

That G&A is overrated.

emma1977 · 15/06/2008 00:47

Expat, I couldn't possibly comment

expatinscotland · 15/06/2008 00:53

Ah, that was long ago, when we were hippy dippy climbers and backwoods enthusiasts who used our lovely combined scientific backgrounds, green fingers and botany skills to grow marijuana to share out with friends.

My ex h, a geophysicist, and his surgeon climbing partner even used the food dehydrator they joint-purchased - to prepare nourishing meals for long trips, of course - to, erm, speed up the natural process .

I did suck on that G&A whilst in labour with DD1 and when the midwife asked how I was getting on Dh said I told her, 'This is a bad high, lady. Got any ganga?'

expatinscotland · 15/06/2008 00:55

I hope Salamander hasn't taken any sleeping tabs. I have, Sal, but in hospital. Whatever they gave me to wake me up from GA they gave me too much of, so anaesthetist had to give me some sedative.

But I wouldn't recommend it at home as I had to go back on the monitor and stay overnight.
