Painful breast and firm/fibrous

As the title says, I've been experiencing breast pain in my right breast for months now. It's only painful when pressed and feels very tender, more so before my period. Because this has been going on for a while I saw my GP who did a check, said they couldn't feel any lumps but that my breasts are very lumpy and fibrous, she would send me for an ultrasound to be safe. While I wait for my appointment and I know this sounds like a silly question but does anyone have breasts which feel like large areas of firm breast tissue (mainly in upper/outer areas)? I've got myself in a mess about how my breast should feel. Lots of people say theirs are soft, but 1/3 of mine is so firm and ropey, (like a large area of hard tissue) I'm not even sure how I'm meant to feel any lumps there if there was one... both are the same. Any input would be really helpful.

Yep, the whole top half of both my boobs is made up of dense, firm ropey tissue. It sounds like yours are exactly like mine. What's been key for me is getting used to what they feel like, especially at different times of the month. I now know what my boobs regularly feel like, rather than comparing them to what other people's might. To reassure you, I had two periods of breast pain last year, including a sore spot that would hurt when I brushed it or jiggled it, and another period where I was getting constant bad stabbing pains in one area. Both times I went to the breast clinic and nothing was found, and the pain eventually went away

@Rosecat22 thank you for responding and for putting my mind at ease, particularly about the firm fibrous breast tissue. Mine have always been like that and are the same in each breast but so many women describe theirs as squish/fleshy, when I can grab firm fibrous tissue in my upper/outer areas!
Still waiting on ultrasound but I am feeling better hearing of your experience while I wait..
