Implant still sore a year after placement, any thoughts?

I had some implants placed nearly a year ago for an all-on-five lower prosthesis, as my existing teeth were starting to fall to bits (long story, they were damaged in my twenties so I'd had a lot of work done).

I'm really happy with the way it's worked out, but I worry about not being able to clean underneath it properly. Also one of the posts (the only one I can access) has never not been slightly sore – it doesn't hurt if I leave it alone, but when I touch it with the tip of a cleaning tool or my water flosser, it really hurts. The gum seems to be a little bit swollen around it but only a bit, as though it's trying to grow over it.

I went to the hygienist the other day and she said she thinks I'm keeping the whole thing really clean, and can't see any plaque around the post. So why does it still hurt? There's not much redness, nothing else to indicate an infection.

I'm honestly considering swapping the all-on-five for a snap-in denture so at least I can clean it better, but I'm not sure if that would resolve the issue with this post.

If anyone has any experience of this I'd be really grateful to hear. Or if there's a dentist out there who might have some idea what's going on.

Thanks for reading.
