giving a sick toddler liquid antibiotics

Help please! My 2 year old has a nasty chest infection and is spitting out the liquid antibiotics.

Need advice - tried giving it to her in yoghurt, and am now resorting to virtual torture to get them down her throat, but she keeps spitting them out!

also, pretend you are taking it or let her pretend feed it to you, or her teddy

Give it to her with the oversize syringes you get in Advil & Paracetamol bottles.

is it amoxicillin? if it is they go very well in banana custard (that's what DS is having three times a day at the moment)

Fledtoscotland, yes! it's amoxicillin - think she's scared because it's YELLOW! Having a crisis about colors and bees at the moment!! What sort of banana custard works with DS?

ambrosia banana custard pots (individual ones are 45p in morrions) - are yellow anyway and he just eats the lot. will look like a banana custard by monday when the antibiotics are finished. HTH

Wish I'd known about the banana custard! Just had this issue with 3yr old about a month ago.... NIGHTMARE is just not the word.

Spat it out whatever we did.
Hid it in chocolate milk, nope, hid it in a load of other stuff, nope, bribery also did not work, or force(!).......

Syringe no good. Even when we tried to squirt it right at the back of his mouth/throat when he was lying down.... he still managed to spit it out again....!!!(!)
