Metformin - anxiety and higher heart rate

Anyone else had an issue with this? Just started it and hr a bit higher on watch. I would say up by around 20 bpm. Then felt like I was having the start of a panic attack.

I looked online and it should do the opposite. Maybe I am worried about starting a new medication. Had a terrible reaction to a very different on in the past.

Not a problem for me but I did suffer with diarrhoea. The slow release version helped with that

Thanks. Not sure which version I have. Guidance is overnight so hope it is the slow release version. Have started slowly. Hoping it was reducing a beta blocker to swap which caused the issue. Was a horrible few days and should have staggered the swap. Will update if I find anything out.
