Hi,

I don't but my DS does. I think the normal range for adults is between 4-7(after 2 hrs after a meal) so it's not that high.

babyjjbaby · 12/06/2008 15:57

ok thanks i am always thirsty and tired aswell

Being thirsty and feeling exhausted are definitley signs of diabetes. Other symptoms include needing to pee frequently (especially at night) and weight loss. You sometimes get thrush-type rashes aswell. Diabetes in adults can develop slowly, so if you do have it, then it'll probably be easier to manage if you're in the early stages. You should gets lots of support from your GP and Diabetes.UK.Org if you are diagnosed.:-)

Had you just eaten when you took the test?

Desiderata · 12/06/2008 20:46

8.8 is perfectly normal if you've had a meal in the last couple of hours.

babyjjbaby · 12/06/2008 20:51

It's still within normal range.

Does diabetes run in your family? Is that what's raised your concerns?

Tinker · 12/06/2008 20:54

I think you can start to lose weight as well with type II (confusingly)

babyjjbaby · 12/06/2008 20:56

no it doesn't run in the family it's just that i have some of the symptoms and she said it was a bit high is there anywhere with a list of the symptoms i can look at
