How much did you use? It should be a capful to a bathful of water, no more.

A capful! It was recommended to me. I think I have very sensitive skin! My skin flare up didn’t go away until 3 weeks!

I had a false widow bite my foot, and I had to keep it clean, so a lovely, ‘relaxing’, bath with Dettol was just the thing!

Another one who remembers fairly frequent dettol baths from childhood. My sister seemed to have more though as she ended up in a lot of ponds when we were little!

We still use it for first aid purposes, but no-one has been bathed in it for a few decades in this house!

Ps. Has to be the brown dettol.

It must be a (TikTok?) ‘thing’ because my 16yo DD was telling me the other week she wanted to do one.

The other product we used was Savlon - I think they were interchangeable back then.

We still use Savlon cream, and Germolene cream. My mum regularly says "use a bit of Savlon!" and my DH is forever using Germolene. I didn't realise it was the same antibacterial ingredient in it as Corsodyl though. On the tube of Germolene I read recently, it said not to use near eyes as it can cause eye problems if it comes into contact with the cornea.😳😞

Ooh, and my DM always made me gargle with diluted TCP as a child too - i hated that 😅

Does it not get in your vag? Genuine question. Can just imagine it stinging the labia and getting up in the vag and burning my insides. 😐

I was raised on dettol baths and so have my kids. From when they came home absolutely covered in anything at nursery to days out in the woods covered in cuts and bruises they always went straight in a dettol bath and none of us have ever had skin issues.

DH now works in a very dirty environment and I often sort him a dettol bath.

I can't remember when I last had a bath, never mind a Dettol one. But my DF (God rest his soul) used to have one every week.
