ds2 had a funny coloured nappy yesterday - sort of burnt orange/red. Thought it was just something he had eaten. Anyway just done his bum again and same coloured stool. Anything to be alarmed at or not do you think?????

What has he eaten?

mum2jakeyroo · 11/06/2008 16:51

Nothing out of the ordinary. Beef Roast dinner on sunday, cheese and cucumber for tea. Yesterday ham sandwiches, chicken, mash and veg for tea. Usual cereals, yoghurts, fruit, biscuits etc for pudding and snacks.

It doesn't sound like anything bad tbh. YOu would know if he was unwell. If it was bloody you would be able to identify it. See how it is tommorrow. He hasn't eaten any playdough, or plasticene?

lucyellensmum · 11/06/2008 18:14

I wouldnt worry unduly. I would only be worried if it were blackish red, obviously bloody - as could both mean an infection. Bright yellow not great, but i mean YELLOW as that can indicate a level of jaundice, but i think he would have to be a lovely glowing yellow too If you are overly concerned ring your surgery and take in a sample. Ive done this before (paranoid mummy).

How are you anyways?

mum2jakeyroo · 11/06/2008 20:09

thanks all. i rang the surgery and took him and a sample down. dr said could be a bug or eaten crayons etc.

Leaflets that fall out the paper are good at creating bizarro poops round here. I found a loan leaflet half eaten in the bin (when she had chance to scoff it I've no idea).

I wouldn't worry too much - blood comes out black or like coffee grounds unless it's from an anal tear in which case it looks like blood.
