Ive just had the coil fitted in march, first time ive had it.
I had ds2 6 months ago and we, well mainly dp, has decided that we are not having anyomore but neither of us wanted to get permanantly 'done'.
I was told by my gp that i can have it removed at anytime if i do decide to try for another.
The good thing is it can be as permanent or short term as you want it to be

Oh, if you've had the coil before, did your periods stop compleyely??
Mine have been really heavy and a lot more painful, especially the first 2 i had after getting the coil, not as painful now but still heavy. I was told that most peoples stop completly?

Fifisworld, not the Mirena coil, would have the old-fashioned sort, just cos I don't like contraception using hormones...

hmmm, can't decide whether to or not

have actually had a coil twice and iirc the second time hurt a fair bit going in

actually, dd was only 6.7, so maybe after 9.3 ds it won't hurt as much!

also, the second one I had I am sure introduced some kind of bacteria (sorry, tmi!) and I was glad to get it taken out, tbh (first one was fine)
