Is there a way to lower cortisol? Any supplements?

I have just see an advert for a cortisol supplement. The advert said if you suffer with the following you have high cortisol. I ticked every box

itching
anxiety
Belly fat
craving sugar
poor sleep
aching joints
round puffy face

My diet isn’t amazing, I tend to have a piece of sourdough with fat free cottage cheese for breakfast, a brown wrap with ham or sliced beef then a main meal at tea which is usually fish, veg, potatoes or spaghetti Bol, chilli, curry, soup or a lighter meal like beans on toast.

i have IBS D so I avoid too much salad or fruit which gives me a bad stomach with wind and bloating.

im 52 and deep in perimenopause with periods every 24 days, heavy and clotty. No hot flushes, lots of niggling symptoms though. I am on HRT but very little oestrogen gel (1 pump at most) as it makes me jittery and headachey. I take progesterone daily.

I don’t want to be suckered in by another supplement that won’t do anything but that advert has really hit the nail on the head and I’m wondering if I should be taking something.

Where was the advert?

What are the actual ingredients of this supplement?

Who makes the supplement?

Has your doctor recommended this supplement?

You could check Addisons forums on Reddit. If you are really having issues processing cortisol it is a very serious life potentially threatening problem though, and trip to GP is in order.
