They look okay to me but if you’re worried pop to a pharmacy and ask them

BillieWiper · 29/11/2025 14:26

No. Not to me. There's a bit of red round the edges.

Do you have liver issues? Do you feel unwell?

JudgeBread · 29/11/2025 14:28

They look normal. They're not supposed to be bright white.

Why are you worried, do you have any specific symptoms that have lead you to believe you might be jaundiced?

Jen345 · 29/11/2025 14:30

They just don’t look like most peoples eyes. Don’t you feel they look off?
I don’t have any liver issues I know of.
thanks for your responses

I am worried about my liver as I have severe psoriasis which can cause damage to the liver and my diet hasn’t been great. I’m working on that now.
I had my bloods done recently and they were okay, but i’ve read liver issues doesn’t always show up on the bloods.

They don’t look particularly healthy to me

Extragreen · 29/11/2025 14:34

What is your alcohol intake op?

OhDonuts · 29/11/2025 14:35

Your eyes look how mine look when I get a cold, so if they have been like it for a short time it might just be you have a bug coming. They also could be a bit irritated if you wear eye make up or have changed any product you use on your face.
They don’t look yellow to me, just a bit irritated.

Mitochondriapowerhouse · 29/11/2025 14:35

They look fine to me

Jen345 · 29/11/2025 14:35

@Extragreen do you think I should be worried? could this be jaundice?
I was drinking more than I should but have really cut down

Ok so I think we are getting somewhere

now to be honest op - how much were you drinking and for how long?

how much have you cut down to?

is it a problem?

the answers you provide will determine my answer to your question

MissMoneyFairy · 29/11/2025 14:45

Any other symptoms, itchy skin, dark urine, pale poo. Why did you have bloods done, a full blood count would show liver problems. Have you gotthose results.

Jen345 · 29/11/2025 14:45

@Extragreen
I was drinking most evenings for 3 years, not getting drunk but wasn’t having a break.
It was a very bad habit which I can’t believe I got into.Im worried the damage is done now though, even though I have stopped.
My bloods were all fine, but i have been having a slight pain in my upper right abdomen and my eyes are worrying me

RosesAndHellebores · 29/11/2025 14:49

How much were you drinking every night? If your liver panel was OK, you are likely to be OK but you do neednto keep off the booze and eat a good diet.

Extragreen · 29/11/2025 14:50

Ok so brilliant you have cut down, really really good.

I do sense though that prior to a few weeks ago, you were a problem drinker.

Ok, so the good news is that the liver is incredible at rejuvenating as long as you carry on massively reduced drinking ( enter yet, stop the bottle a week!) but I would definitely see GP and be 100% honest about the excessive drinking before you cut down a few weeks ago

Jen345 · 29/11/2025 14:53

Thank you so much.
I did read though once you have jaundice in your eyes it’s likely severe liver damage

Owly11 · 29/11/2025 14:54

Pain top right abdomen could be gallbladder. You don't look at other people's eyes as closely as you look at your own so that might be why they look strange to you.

Extragreen · 29/11/2025 14:54

Just book gp

and please be honest about past drinking

Musicaltheatremum · 29/11/2025 14:55

If your liver function on your bloods is normal then you're not jaundiced as the bilirubin in your blood would be elevated in order for your whites of eyes to be yellow
I've seen several jaundiced patients over the year. It's really obvious. Your eyes are normal.

Jen345 · 29/11/2025 14:59

thank you all for taking the time to reply
