Strange rash on DS what could it be?

I noticed on his ankle this morning a rash that looked like he'd been stung by nettles ( white raised bumps surrounded by redness).

That seems to have gone and now he has it on the top inner arms and a couple on his tummy.

He hasn't been near any nettles to have stung himself and it wasn't there first thing this morning so couldn't have been from yesterday.

Any ideas??

Heat rash????

Last time my son had a rash (and it was all over him!) the doctor said it was "a unspecified non-specific rash" !!!! Brilliant.

Does it reduce if you cool it down?

hmm could be I suppose - but doesn't look like heat rash that I've seen before.

Slap cheek?

No you're right, heat rash is usually red. Insect bites are red as well, and they last a long time - they wouldn't disappear from his ankle so quickly. It sounds just like a nettle rash doesn't it. Does it itch?

Try a bit of antihistamine cream - it certainly won't do any harm.

i've asked if it's sore & he says no (he's only 18mths)
will slap a bit of calamine cream on for now and get some antihistamine cream if doesn't go down
