Can I ignore the doctor's advice?

I posted a few days ago about a mystery bruise on my leg. It didn't go away as hoped so I went to the doctor this morning. Turns out it's a ruptured blood vessel thingee...nothing the doctor or anyone else can do about it and it should go away within 4 weeks.

That's all he said...anyway as I was walking out I asked him "Am I ok to go back to karate?" and he said "nah...I'd leave it a fortnight myself"

I CANT leave it a fortnight, I have a grading coming up in two weeks....

Can I ignore the doctor on this or would that be stupid?

Couldn't I just go to karate and not use that leg?

how likewly is that (only using 1 leg ?)

I could just talk to insructor and tell him I can only kick with my left leg and have to rest the right one for two weeks...or will that sound stupid?

Why do these injuries always come on at the worst times?
