Anyone want a moan about being ill?

I came back from holibobs late Sunday. Even had a day nap. Woke up Tuesday with scratchy throat, cough and aches. Fuck me there is a lot of week until the weekend.

Paracetamol seems to help, but I feel so wretched, even getting up for it is mammoth. I managed a bath and have a lemsip thing in bed. Also bought some throat numb spray.

I've been asked to lead something at work tomorrow and feel guilty as am back from holiday. But it's also massively irresponsible to go in with a cold.

It may depend if I wake up with it under control. It's also cold and I don't want to walk anywhere.

I am the world's worst ill person. TBF when I was younger it was like a badge of honour to work through a cold.

Please don't go in to the office. Don't be like Richard Madeley who went back on TV after only two days off for COVID, he would have still been contagious. Presenteeism is very economically damaging!

If you absolutely must go in, wear a tightly fitting mask, preferably a Kn95 or N95 with no gaping to minimize the risk to others, and open some windows for air flow as exhaled viral particles linger in the air.

I don't know where you've been on holiday but COVID and flu are rampant in Europe and the US. Do a rapid test (though be aware COVID tests often don't show positive till day 4+ of symptoms as viral load builds slowly, this is not an issue with flu rapid tests).

Get well soon. Use nasal irrigation and mouthwash gargle twice a day to help reduce the viral load.

Thank you. I feel dreadful, temp is up.

I think the office would be bad.
Interesting about Covid being rampant in Europe, I came back from there. I did test and don't have it atm. Good shout on nasal spray. Going back to sleep for a bit.

We are on week 3, we’ve both tried to go back to work, a day of it just sent DH back to bed. I’ve not done anything except go to work and come back absolutely shattered….

That sounds awful.

I sweated profusely, I was soaked in sweat. Headache gone though. I got a faint positive on a covid test.

I've just coughed so hard I've been sick. TMI sorry. I felt okay in the day. Absolutely ruined at night. I've been deliriously fantasising about what normal feels like.

I had it for 5 weeks, then a week off and now it's back even worse! I'm on antibiotics now, for a chest infection, but I feel really weak and have absolutely zero energy at all. I've got lemons and honey, catarrh pastilles, cough syrup, paracetamols. But I've been coughing until I'm sick and I also pulled every single muscle from my chest to my pelvis last week. It's ridiculous!
Hope you feel better soon, hang in there 💐
