Poorly throat - what have I got?

Anyone want to diagnose my poorly throat? I recently had a tonsil stone (I didn't know the name of this condition until MN educated me!) which has now gone.

Since then, I've felt as though I've got something caught in my throat, like a hair, and the bit of my throat that runs down down from the uvula has swollen areas each side. It sometimes aches but isn't actually sore. I don't feel ill but it's annoying to constantly be aware of something in my throat. And I can't be bothered to go to the Dr.

That bit that runs from your uvula, do you mean on the sides of your tongue. Those are your tonsils.

To be honest sounds like one of those lingering sore throat virus's that hang around for ages. Sympathy given. Doctors wi=on't do anything anyway.

I'm sure it's not tonsillitus as I've had that before, Bubblagirl.

Lulalullabye, it's the area that's behind the tonsils, that come down to the tongue, the bit you gargle with, iykim! Maybe it is just a virus.

I still don't know what's going on. After eating toast on Sun evening it felt like something had burst in my throat and it felt better. But then the same thing developed on the other side yesterday and now the original bit is swollen again. It looked a bit as if my throat was ulcerated - is that a possibility?
