I had one of my two appointments today, it was an ultrasound. There checking my ovaries womb etc as I have irregular intermittent bleeding , painful sex, bleeding after and before etc.

there not allowed to tell me the results but she said my endometrial lining was a bit too thick for my cycle day. Im cycle day 9/0 and my endometrial lining was 9.1 mm . Does anyone have any knowledge of this please? I have googled and usually it’s fine unless it’s hand in hand with symptoms like I’ve got.

going out of my mind
thank you

How old are you love? I'm pushing 50, post menopausal and on HRT. I've had thickened lining diagnosed twice on ultrasound (similar thickness to yours). The first time they took me straight in for a hysteroscopy, apparently looked fine and biopsy was clear. The second time I asked for a general for the hysteroscopy, the delay in booking this meant that actually on the day of the scope my lining was normal thickness. Still did biopsies which were clear. It was put down to a mismatch in my hrt meds.

Not sure if that's helpful if you're not at a similar age and stage to me. I was told that the 2 week/suspected cancer pathway is vastly more likely to rule it out than in.

I had thickened endometrium & similar symptoms, bleeding & pain, & was on 2week referral so very scary. Turned out to be adenomyosis behind many of the symptoms, plus not using enough progesterone with my HRT had thickened endometrium; hysterectomy over a year ago & on biopsy of ovaries etc when removed there was nothing sinister.

Don’t assume the worst! Adenomyosis is often under diagnosed.

Try not to worry too much OP, it could very well be due to adenomyosis, which along with all the other symptoms you have, also causes a very bulky thickened uterus. I have it, and was diagnosed via ultrasound.

I’m only 32! No hrt, no menopause nothing so I’m not sure what’s going on 😩😩😩
