3 months of sore coccyx and lower back

I fell down the stairs 3 months ago and hurt my lower back and coccyx. My GP said there wasn't much point xraying at the time, as there's nothing to be done with a broken coccyx.

It's still sore. I can't sit comfortably, even on a coccyx cushion; it feels like my pelvis is being compressed and it hurts when I get back up. The last 8 inches or so of my spine hurt slightly all the time, and also the side of my rear pelvic bones, and even lying down, there's slight but uncomfortable pressure in my rectal area - something definitely isn't the shape it used to be.

I know there's probably nothing to be done but is there anything to be gained from asking for an xray at this stage? I'd feel reassured to have the whole area checked, but I'm not sure that's justification for a referral, and I don't really want to fork out for a GP visit to ask, if it's pointless.

I had terrible coccyx pain after a long immobile labour having my son. I got a coccyx pillow which has a hole in where your coccyx goes.. takes the pressure off when sitting down. I will say as well, a saw a chiropractor for it and it worked wonders for me after a few sessions (cue posters coming in to say chiropractors are quacks 🙄). If you don’t fancy a chiropractor try a physio maybe?

Sorry OP, I see you’ve already got a coccyx cushion 😬

You could of course request an xray for peace of mind. If nothing is fractured which hopefully is the case, I’m guessing it’s very bruised, as mine was.

I fell down the stairs 32 years ago and fractured my coccyx and I still have pain in it if I fit for too long.
Not helpful I know but you have my sympathy, it was extremely painful 😭
