Anyone know what this could be? (Mystery Bruise)

I went to karate last night and when I came home my leg was really hurting. I had NOT been hit or kicked in it so could not explain it.

As the night went on my leg grew more and more tender and began giving way on me, I was limping and it REALLY hurt around the knee area. When I took my jeans off I noticed that a vein behind my knee was inflamed (a big bump) and the surrounding area was badly bruised. Could not explain this at all because as I said, I was not injured from the karate.

Anyway, went to bed and it was still hurting, I could put no pressure on it or anything.

This morning I totally forgot about it as it was no longer hurting, I wasn't limping or anything.

However when I went into the shower I noticed that now, the entire area is covered in a HUGE nasty looking bruise, all purple, blue and black...it looks like I've been hit with a hammer. The wierd thing is though, it no longer hurts, even when I touch it. (Last night I couldn't touch it at all).

Not sure if its a good thing or a bad thing that it no longer hurts....

Anyone know what could have caused this? burst blood vessel or something?? I'm quite worried.

I'm not sure what this is at all, but to be honest i think you should take yourself along to the out of hours doctor and get yourself checked. It really is probably nothing but i wouldnt want to be leaving that all weekend.
