It keeps flaring up but never quite going

It's been around since last Thursday & it is pissing me off

It makes me slightly queasy when it is bad - but my head just feels really full & my eyes are playing me up too (I have ME so they do this sometimes)

MN can't DO anything - but I wanted to whinge

do you think yo may need glasses as could be eye strain?
maybe dehydrated but then i also think that sometimes the weather changes can cause headaches, i was suffering like that a couple of weeks ago.

Beauregard · 06/06/2008 23:40

Could be sinuses?

SleepingBooty · 06/06/2008 23:43

I was going to say dehydration too.
Water aids everything apparently.

< she says on her 3rd glass of wine>

KatyMac · 06/06/2008 23:43

My first thought was dehydration (it affects me quite badly) so everyone has been nagging me to drink

I hadn't thought of sinuses - I will do some hand reflexology to get rid (if there is any)

OP posts:
Beauregard · 06/06/2008 23:44

ooh teach me hand reflexology ,my sinuses are driving me nuts.

KatyMac · 06/06/2008 23:48

OK - you must do all ten fingers and it's better not to stp in the middle

Starting with your thumb (and then working on each finger of each hand) you press (using your other thumb with your forefinger underneath) three times along the length of your nail starting at the base moveing each time down towards the end of your thumb/finger

Then when you have done all 10, you do it again on the underneath of your nail (on the 'pad' of each finger/thumb)

Does that make sense?

I do it 4-6 times a day when my sinuses are bad & it helps drain them (cased on what comes out my nose - tmi sorry)

If it is that my headache won't go until tomorrow but it might disappear

Will do thanks

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 00:00

Good luck - it only takes about a minute each time you do it & it really does work

Katymac Hi I can really sympathize as I have had virtually the same symptoms for a week. I have lived with chronic sinusitis for the past 18 years but it doesn't feel like a sinus infection, I also have numerous other physical illnesses. Mine seems to get worse in the evenings. On thursday I swapped my prescripton anti-histamine for a different over the counter one. Yesterday I felt ok not sure if this is just coincidential. I have been drinking loads of water, irrigating my nose and putting vaseline inside, as I think its related to the weather/hay fever.

Good luck and I hope your feeling better soon (I'm hoping yesterday wasn't just a one off).

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 10:42

Good luck - I hope you are still well today

I have never suffered much with either sinuses or with hayfever but I might try an antihistamine

Thank you feeling ok so far but just going out, hopefully the pollen counts not to bad as its cloudy here today - I hope your feeling better today as well, take care.

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 21:11

How have you been today - I have had an awful day

I have short term memory loss, visual disturbances, headache, joint/muscle pain - I'm guessing I am having an attack of ME (CFS)

Hi, I'm really sorry to hear you've had a bad day. My headaches gone for the moment but I have a sore throat theres always something! Like yourself I live with many physical illnesses including osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia so I can certainly understand how your feeling with regards to the memory loss and joint/muscle pain and really do sympathize, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, take care .

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 21:55

Sore throat seems like not much of a swop for a headache - sorry you aren't feeling better

I guess I am a bit resentful as I have been so good recently

Is it possible it's a pre-menstrual headached.

Since I've been taking Liquorice root, my pms headaches have stopped. And they used to be awful. I used to take 3 nurofen.

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 22:00

Period finished on Monday.......

Tell me more about liquorice?

OP posts:
GreenElizabeth · 07/06/2008 22:48

Well, it's just a ground powder in a capsule. I was sceptical when the lady in the health food shop told me it would regulate my hormones (can't remember exactly what she said, but I had told her I was having bad pmt headaches). She said it might take two months to work. But it worked the first month. This reminds me I haven't taken my liquorice root tablet today.

KatyMac · 07/06/2008 22:53

Do you take it everyday?

Does it have an affect on your digestion?

OP posts:
GreenElizabeth · 08/06/2008 20:10

Once a day most of the month and then in the run up to my period I take two a day. they have no effect at all on your digestion and they're completely odourless and tasteless too. Try it for a month. It worked so well for me I'd be interested to find out if it is a 'miracle' cure that the medical profs. don't seem to know about!! (but ladies in health shops DO know about)

KatyMac · 08/06/2008 20:12

I'll give it a go

I do feel awful today but I have been crying most of the day my nana is seriously ill in hospital

OP posts:
morgansauntie · 08/06/2008 22:25

Hi,I'm really sorry to hear about your nana. I know how hard it can be when a grandparent is ill but I hope you can find some time to take care off yourself as well given your health problems.
Thinking off you and sending my best wishes x

KatyMac · 09/06/2008 12:06

Thanks
