Just been told by GP after a continuous nagging bleed from my C-section 5 months ago that I am infected with Strep B and need some anti-biotics..Can any one help with any of the following questions?

Is there a chance that I have just got this, and DIDN'T have when I had my DD?

DD is now healthy 5 months old, is there any possibility that she is not OK or needs any treatment?

How 'bad' is it for me as a mother or is there no risk?

Hi koji, I only know a little bit about strep B and hope this will answer your questions.

Strep B is carried by around 1/3 of people so its quite common, more so than people realise. There is a chance you had it when you were pregnant but because you had a C-section, its very unlikely that its passed to your dd. If it had done so, then she would've had symptoms fairly soon after birth.

Tbh, there isn't any risk to you. ABs will clear up the current infection, but it doesn't get rid of it entirely.

There are a couple of websites with more info (& probably more accurate!), I'll dig them up for you.
