I think I need help. DD2 (4 weeks tomorrow) won't stop crying unless I hold her upright and jig her up and down. She was throwing up profusely. HV mentioned reflux on wendesday, but said to feed her less and trust my instincts. Instincts shot to shit as I've had no sleep for two days. I phoned the MW this morning, who said phone the HV. HV said go to BFing support group. Baby is obviously in pain, but is it colic or reflux (hasn't thrown up for two days)? DH says phone a doctor. What should I do?

by the way - if its colic, would that explain the baby wanting to be upright all the time?

It may not be that she wants to be upright, as much as is uncomfortable laying down iyswim.
It's easier to get rid of wind when upright though.

On Kellymom they talk about colic in the breastfed baby and attribute one of it's causes to overactive supply so hopefully you'll have hit the nail on the head and be able to rectify it.

Having a baby cry is bad enough when you know what to do to fix it, let alone when you have no idea!
