I was reffered on a 2ww for suspected cancer, it took me visiting my gp 4 times since June and given antibiotics multiple times to be taken seriously. Anyway I had my appointment on the 10th of October and it was confirmed that there is a abnormal lump in my throat, it was very obvious to him even by looking, and it needs to be investigated. The Dr sent me for blood tests which I completed on the day, and he told me I would be sent a letter with an appointment for a ultrasound on my neck and biopsy. Since then I've heard nothing. I rang the department I was seen at apparently they have nothing on file about me, No record of my blood test, no notes, nothing at all!! They said they were going to call me back (this was monday) they haven't. I've spoken to PALS and they are looking into it but they are yet to contact me. I honestly don't know what to do I'm so stressed about it as you can imagine.

Have you rang your GP to chase this as well as the hospital department as they should have a record on file of this? Sorry you are going through this. It may be that it just hasn’t gone on the file yet.

Sorry youre going through this,OP. It’s an anxious time when things go to plan without the fuck up on top.

Id suggest calling your GP as a first step. Explain the situation. It will be on file on your GP notes that you have the throat issue and it will show that you were referred.

If they have really no record of you at the hospital they will have to do it again so you should ask to be fast tracked.
Ask your GP to chase this up. They can at least pick up the phone and talk to them with less chance of being fobbed off.

Yes I agree with chasing up with your GP to ensure they submitted the referral correctly. Something has gone wrong somewhere, so sorry you are going through this at such a worrying time, I hope you can get an appointment soon.

Hi guys, it turns out the hospital consultant I saw hadn't inputted anything into the system so my tests were not ordered. I have to go tomorrow to have more bloods, then on Thursday il be having a guided aspiration of my thyroid.

Hope it goes well OP. DD had exactly the same issue and the biopsy came back clear. She was discharged from the service but told that if the lump started getting in the way of eating etc then to go back and they’d remove it. It’s not grown any since.
Fingers crossed you’re the same. x
