Cystitis getting worse - going to US not back for 3 weeks.

Hi folks,
I’ve had cystitis for 6 days now. Given antibiotics for 3 days from nurse at GP- saw paramedic there yesterday who gave me another 7 days of the same thing. There is blood in my wee.
however it’s just getting worse not better. I’m starting to feel more ill and flanks are hurting. I’m lying in bed feeling terrible. I’ve rung drs again to ask for a different type of antibiotic to take with me and they’re ringing me back this afternoon.

I’m on long haul flight tomorrow then a cruise - US cruise line on Saturday. Back middle of Nov.

i wondered what the US is like for this- I’m imagining I’ll need to seek help there if I get nowhere with drs today as I’m there until the middle of November.
Anyone had experience of this??

The US is fabulous for medical care. The cruise will have a fully staffed and stocked medical facility (if its a major cruise liner). The only issue is that you will have to pay. What is your medical travel insurance like? Will your cystitis be covered as it is now a pre existing condition? I suggest you call the helpline for the insurance and get it declared before you leave.
