Anyone with Reflux or IBS have this Symptom?

So I've been troubled by my digestive system for about 6 years now, I'm mid 50s. In the beginning it started with terrible burping symptoms and burning feeling in my mouth but not typical heartburn in my chest. The burping has calmed down a bit now. I've had endoscopy, colonoscopy, h pylori test, coeliac and blood tests and nothing of concern has ever been noted.

Now I've realised that these burning symptoms ramp up just before and after a bowel movement. These symptoms last for literally hours and are then triggered again a couple of hours after eating. I don't experience any abdominal pain or cramps, just this awful constant burning feeling Anyone else experienced this and did anything help you?

For the record I've worked my way through multiple PPIs, Famotidine, buscopan, hrt, even tried escitalopram and am now on amitriptyline, as well as various probiotics and really nothing has been much help. Would appreciate any advice as I'm so worn out by daily symptoms.

Sometimes my but feels burny if I have stuff that needs to evacuate but can’t, like it’s stuck. I’ve had IBS around 17 years

Thanks @Laralou991 for your reply, sorry you have issues too.

My burning is all upper end. It's such a strange feeling - after I go to the toilet I get this burning in my mouth, it's as if I'm breathing hot gas. I'm wondering if the movement in my intestines propels acid gas upwards from my stomach, it's just that it goes on for hours afterwards and nothing I've taken seems to help. I suppose I need to go back to my GP but it gets incredibly frustrating after so many years without any resolution. Does anyone know of any tests I should be asking for?

Sounds like my husband. He had a combination of excess stomach acid and an oesophageal hernia. He had to have surgery.

All of this discovered after going private obvs because the NHS couldn’t care less that he was crying in pain every week.

That's great your husband has been fixed, it gives me some hope! I have wondered for a long time if I had a hernia though nothing showed during the endoscopy but I'm pretty sure it doesn't always show up. What test showed up the hernia for your husband?
