Ds has an itchy red willie, any advice

I think it may be from urine as he tends to leak a tiny bit and I don't know straight away to clean him up. We Have an appointment at the Docs tomorrow, but he is really itchy and want to soothe it before he goes to bed in about an hour, any suggestions please.

I would change the appointment to today if you can.

I don't know how old but is he old enough for antihistimine? but if not would give calpol and smother on something like sudocreme after gently bathing it first

Ds is four, thanks Furball, but it's evening here where we are, shall definately give calpol equivalent soon if he doesn't settle, I hadn't thought of that for a skin thing, have put on some hydroquartizone/antifungal cream he has for his eczema I'm hoping that will help....
