It must be about a week ago. I was on antibiotics and he was desperate for the empty packet, so I stupidly gave it to him and when I took it back one of the tiny flaps was gone.

I noted it to watch out for in his nappy (he is 11mo) and this morning it came out, it was a little bit sore

I am such a shit mum. I won't ever let him have something like that again.

The thing I'm worried about is he feels hot this morning and I'm scared in case it has done any damage, like cut his intestine perhaps and caused an infection.

Does anyone know if this is likely? I am going to ring Dr. now.

I read that it can cause problems in pets so am worried.

Don't know much about this, but just wanted to offer you some comfort.
I have never heard of anything terrible happening as a result of this, and surely you would have noticed the effects by now if there was real danger
You are not a bad mum, we have all done things like this!
Stay calm, talk to your GP and don,t give yourself a hard time

Thankyou
You're very sweet!

I rang the OOH Gp and he was great - said the lining of the gut renews very quickly and is quite tough, so it's unlikely to have caused any damage

I have learnt my lesson...just because he cries I shouldn't give him something that could hurt him!

I am glad he's okay
