Multivitamin or Individual Supplements — What’s Really Worth It?

I keep hearing mixed opinions about taking a daily multivitamin vs. focusing on specific nutrients like iron, vitamin D, or magnesium. For those who’ve tried both, did you notice any real difference in how you felt?

I've taken Icaps for my eye health for many many years, because they contain lutein which is supposed to help prevent the development of macular degenerative eye disease. And the optician generally comments that the backs of my eyes look healthy. I'm not prepared to stop taking these because I do think they are beneficial.
However in recent years I've been taking cod liver oil and also a vitamin D supplement. Btbh I think they are probably a waste of time because I really don't notice any benefits from them at all.
And honestly if you have a reasonably balanced and healthy diet I would suspect you wouldn't notice any benefits from a multivitamin. But that's just personal opinion.

I take indv vitamins because the multi vitamins don't come in large enough doses IMO.

So i buy high quality mag glycinate, vitamin D & K2 in 4000iu, and I took iron sulphate for 6 months to raise my ferritin levels.

Touch wood, this is the first year in about 5 years where I haven't had a cold by half term.
