I have a beast of a cold. I literally cannot breathe in, lost my sense of smell and taste, and generally living a pretty depressed life right now tbh. I lost my appetite, I have to check baby’s nappy every hour because I can’t smell, lost motivation to cook for my family etc… just generally unsettled by it all. I have tried everything!!! Was using Sudafed every night but stopped out of fear of getting addicted. Saline doesn’t even touch the sides. Is it normal to be blocked for so long?? 😭

cant even enjoy tea or coffee atm.RANT OVERRR

I was gonna say use sudafed 🤔 only other suggestion is bowl of hot water with a teaspoon of vapour rub in it.
i used sudafed twice a day for like 2 weeks when i was ill and i was fine xx
edited to add: use a bowl you don’t mind having to bin/use for washing up as once the vapour rub goes in it, no matter how many times you wash it it still smells like vapour rub lol xx

@Avie29 thanks! I will try that. I should also stop worrying about using Sudafed then. I have only used it once a day for 3 days

Yea i was worried because it says in the leaflet i think not to use it for more than 5 days but i can’t sleep with blocked nose and can’t take cold n flu relief due to breastfeeding so thought sod it.
put a towel over your head to intensify the vapour rub vapours xx

You could try an antihistamine from the pharmacy, like piriton or zirtek as an alternative if you don't want to take it too long. Keep your blood sugar levels up too by grazing. I would say rest but I know it's not easy when you have a baby!
