My Mum is 77 and she told me for the last 2 weeks she has been having diarrhea every time she eats sometimes 4/5 times a day and is having a lot of wind. She has a telephone appointment with the doctor.

Does anyone have experience of these symptoms.

I understand your worry, but it could be an infection or a digestive disorder. It's good that she's going to get it checked out. I hope all works out ok.
She should make sure she's drinking plenty of water and getting enough electrolytes if she's having diarrhea that often.

To be honest, it could be a number of things, IBD, diverticulitis, chrons, colitis, infection to name a few, but good that she’s getting it checked out.

She spoke to the doctor today who said they don’t really do anything until it’s been 4 weeks since the symptoms started. So she has had it for 2 weeks so will go and see her if it doesn’t clear up in the next two weeks.

I have IBS so I know it could be something similar I guess it’s just I worry at her age it could be more serious.
