Ears ringing after concert

Primrose121 · 11/10/2025 09:03

four days ago I went to a concert. It was really loud. I have had ringing in my ears since and my ears feel blocked. I am hoping to get a doctor’s appointment on Monday . I am panicking I have permanently damaged by hearing. Has anyone else experienced this

It's ridiculous that people have to wear ear plugs.
Venues and bands should not be playing at volumes that are causing damage to so many.
I would contact the venue and report your experiences OP. Until people start doing this, things won't change.

I completely agree - if there was any other commercial venture that resulted in customers having severe health problems then o don’t think that would be acceptable. If it was me, I would take advice (legal? Citizen’s advice?) and make a stand. I wonder if Environmental Health may be useful to report it to? People / businesses shouldn’t be making profit from something that is causing longstanding physical harm to customers.

With kindness I really think you need to go to the GP about the anxiety this has caused you as a separate issue. Sit tight for ENT but maybe the GP can help with some meds or talking therapy for anxiety around the whole thing x

Thank you. It just seems so
unnecessary it wasn’t something I had even booked. All very last minute. I am lying to my friend saying it’s an ear infection.

Been to the docs about anxiety. Ears now just feel clogged with bad tinnitus. Any experience of this

Just thought I’d update. I have been to the ENT and have been diagnosed with TMJ. It’s been a horrible few months but now I can move on

Oh I had this for a little while! Maybe try a mouth guard for sleeping as mine was due to teeth grinding at night which can be from anxiety

Primrose121 · 14/12/2025 08:31

Did the mouth guard work and did you have tinnitus with ot

I don’t recall tinnitus no but the mouth guard 100% worked for my TMJ pain and overuse of it. Go to the dentist and get one fitted worth a try x
