Have booked appt with cranial osteopath for ds - any experiences with slightly older babies?

He is 4.5 months. I have read so many good things about cranial osteopathy, and we are lucky enough to be able to afford it. Most of the things I've read in MN are with really young colicky babies though. I am excited about it but sort of worried that my hopes will be raised and that nowt will happen! I am not sure there is even a specific 'problem' with my ds, just that he is a demanding, grumpy little sod! Has anyone had CO for an older baby with good results?

Yes I go regularly (2-6 times a year) with my three children aged 7yrs, almost 6yrs and almost 3yrs. I started going with them with colic but over the years other things have come up like big falls, growing pains, car sickness etc and I have found that it really helps. HTH

Can only say it worked fab for us, DS had reflux and was not gaining weight at all.

Within two sessions he was sorted, although we had a course of six, just to make sure all was well.

They can be treated at any age, but the earlier the better.

Good luck and may your grumpy boy be banished!

Mine had it when young and again when he was walking so I would say, go for it.

Thanks for replies - really hoping it helps!

We took DD for the first time when she was about 6/7 months and again when she was a bit older. I think that we could do with taking her again (she is now 12 months). Definitely go for it and maybe keep it up for a few sessions if necessary so that you get the full benefit. The earlier you start the better the results and the quicker the results. I wish that we had started at 4.5 mo.

Yes, we used it for constipation and general paininthearsity in our dd. Very effective.

lol at 'paininthearsity'. Right, am expecting great things now!

Well my baby is 21 YEARS old and he is having cranial osteopathy! he has had so many concussions over the last year, compressed vertebrae etc - mad skiing instructor, but it is working like a dream.

Apparently concussion cause emotional problems, mood swings, anxiety, panic attacks, so C O helps a lot.

we went when ds2 was about5.5-6 months old, he had 5 perforated eardrums in the first 5 months of his life.
we went 3 times, ds2 lay on his back and seemed to enjoy her playing with his head..
he is now 20 months and touch wood, we haven't had any issues with his ears since.
Good luckx
