Chest x ray this am, feeling worried...

Have had a cough for weeks, first lot of antibitotics didn't clear it up. went back told I had a crackle and a wheeze left hand side, most likely cause pneumonia, given massive dose (doctors words) of clarithromycin and a ventolin inhaler. Cough started to improve but have been feeling very, very tired. Took ds to gp this am, doctor heard me coughing and asked to listen to chest again, five days into taking antibiotics, still crackle and wheeze in left side, sent immediately to x ray for chest xray to rule out 'possible consolidation in left upper side'

So anyway have been to hospital, big sign up saying you will hear back from whoever referred you for x ray, so in my case my gp. Does anyone know how long I'm going to have to wait, I feel really, really worried, probably because I'm feeling so shit. TIA

It's usually a 10 day wait but if anything serious shows up they'll let your GP know and he should let you know.

I had pneumonia a couple of months ago a nd it was pretty crappy. My chest Xray showed 'consolidation' - due to infection I was told. Antibiotics for ages and chest X ray repeated after 6-8 weeks.

I got the results back from GP the following day.

Take care. It's pants.

I had to phone up for mine Quad. Ring your surgery and ask when they expect the results back. Here they are sent overnight by hospital to GP, and then we phone up in the afternoon after GP has had a shufti.

Dont feel that you have to wait for the phone to ring.
If you are not getting better then get back to the GP, you might not be on the right treatment.
Hope that you are feeling better soon.

I will do, glad they used the word consolidation with you, that word freked me out a bit, I can deal with pneumonia, was worried it was something more.
