ScoobyBooby · 27/09/2025 18:47

Recently opted to try Specsavers free contact lens trial . I am really enjoying having the contacts especially for driving

I am currently using the daily disposable lenses 2 days left on the trial.

Does anyone use Specsavers if so how much do you pay per month for your lenses and which ones do you get please ?

Thanks !

33 quid a month for daily disposables

isthesolution · 27/09/2025 18:56

Try monthly ones. You’ll make a decent saving (if you are wearing them most days). Mine were £46 a month for daily and £21 for monthly (or £23 with the solution). And it really isn’t much hassle at all to clean them.

Pineapplewaves · 27/09/2025 19:59

£19.00 per month for monthly disposable lenses and a bottle of cleaner. They get delivered to my house every three months (three sets of lenses and three bottles of cleaner in each delivery). You have to go for a free contact Lense check up once a year and a free eye test every two years. You get a discount on a new pair of glasses or sunglasses once a year, I think it’s £59.00 off any pair but you can’t use the discount with the 2 for 1 offer.

Pineapplewaves · 27/09/2025 20:01

You are allowed to pause your contract if you find your lenses are stacking up. You can pause up to three deliveries a year.

RedRobyn24 · 27/09/2025 20:04

I pay £17pm I have enough daily disposables for wearing 3x pairs a week. I have their best daily’s available as I was getting dry eyes, I also have a astigmatism which might effect the price and I can’t get cheap ones from Asda because of this

JollyHostess101 · 27/09/2025 20:05

I’m £28 but have special lenses but the savings I’ve had on glasses of the years have been great!!

ThePerkyEagle · 27/09/2025 20:41

I pay £30 per month for daily’s, they’re softer and more lubricated lenses as I struggle with dry eyes.

SauvignonBlanche · 27/09/2025 20:51

I paid £42/ month for varifocal dailies.

ScoobyBooby · 27/09/2025 21:26

Thank you , your posts are very helpful !

Most likely going to carry on with them and see what the options are when I go back next week.
The lady didn’t tell me anything about the scheme so getting to pause the contract and having the checks included is very handy !

@RedRobyn24 im pretty sure I’ve got astigmatism but it wasn’t flagged at this or my usual eye test a few months ago when I opted to get new glasses.

You don’t need to sign up to any scheme. I order them as and when I need them as I vary between my glasses at weekend to give my eyes a break and the contact lenses :)

dontcomeatme · 27/09/2025 21:44

I pay £13 a month for only a limited amount of dailys but I don't wear them every day so that suits me. I get my yearly contact checks in that as well as 2 yearly eye tests. Oh and a voucher towards the cost of new glasses every 2 years. I would recommend buying a little bottle of dry eye drops. Sometimes the heat is brutal, or if you leave them in a little too long x

ScoobyBooby · 01/10/2025 00:24

Thank you everyone .

I remember the lady said they would be around 36 pound a month for a very straight forward prescription (in her words) but having looked on their website daily contacts start from £7.50 .

Was pretty sure I was going to get the monthly ones but now I’m thinking daily .

Thanks for the tip to buy eye drops!

I have dailies and I love them. I used to have monthly ones but then I had a horrible infection so I switched and would never go back.

I wear them every day at work and sometimes at the weekend. I need approx 25 pairs pm so I switch between 20 and 30 pairs. Atm I am on 30 which costs £33 pm. When I have built up a stash I will switch back to 20 (but must keep an eye as you only get them every quarter and I ran out in the spring this year – had to go into the branch and beg some freebie trial ones :).

They are such a gamechanger @ScoobyBooby – I love being able to see all the time and not faffing with a) glasses and b) solution and cleaning lenses. bc I am on the Lensmail I get free checkups and eye tests plus a pair of glasses every two years.

Top tip – don't swim in them.

ScoobyBooby · 01/10/2025 00:47

Oh I’ve loved having the contact lenses this week! Like yourself being able to see clearly without the faff !

Oh no ! That’s good they gave you some free trial ones ! I’m going to end up with a stockpile 😁

Riverswims · 02/10/2025 14:23
