Any reason not to start mini pill during our holiday?

I've just been prescribed it because of my depression. The leaflet that the Dr gave me said I could start it any time but the leaflet with the pills says start it on the first day of your period. I'll be starting my period when we are away for a fortnight just over a week away.
Could anyone tell me if it is likely to make me bleed for 2 weeks and ruin my holiday or anything?

no it shouldn't
it should be fine, might even make it stop a little quicker but that's not for certain just what happened to me
