I don't want ds to over heat, or run the risk of cot death.

And what do they wear? PJs?

Atm he has a grobag (2.5 tog in winter, 1.o tog now and 0.5 tog in high summer) So do you have different togged duvets? I can only find 4.0 tog - is that all year round?

TIA

how old is DS? I thought cot death was only a worry when they were too small to roll over, or kick covers off.

DD has a 1 tog quilt - but it's more important to give them layers because they can then kick off the excess.

He's over 2, and I know I'm always paranoid but I do want to make sure I'm doing it properly!

I just want to know if you have to change the thickness of the duvat just like you do with a grobag depending on the weather.

Hello, i got a 2.5 tog duvet, i did read somewhere that that was ok, he seems fine with it and his room is hot, its 23 in there at the moment, Its a normal single size spundown duvet. he wears cotton pjs.

worriedashamed · 02/06/2008 20:28

swallowsandamazons - where did you get it from? Can only find a 4.0tog duvat for a cot bed.

think recommended max is 4.5 tog for young kids as they get hotter. My dd uses a 4.5 tog one, but if its a particularly warm night I'd just use a cellular blanket or single duvet cover without a duvet in it.

i just bought one of the ikea kiddie dvets never looked into tog ratings strange coz i was absolutely obsessed when she co slept and went into her cot lol

I can't believe how hard it is to find duvats for a cot bed - let alone one which is less than 4.0 togs!

think to get cotbed size 2.5 tog its more of a "coverlet" type thing, like you get with coordinating bumper etc.Not like a duvet that you put inside a cover.

Hello got my duvet from an AIS store, it a normal single size one though and not cot size, but the great thing about it is that it washes really well, and tumble drys 'Spundown from The fine bedding company' is its name.
