Hi,
I wondered if I could ask if anyone else has used an iQoro device and found it useful?
It's meant to cure reflux and I have been using it very inconsistently for about 2 years.
The odd thing is that after 2 years, I am finding that the device is working for my pelvic floor, my core strength, my posture and also the reflux problem.
It also helps with my embouchure for playing a woodwind instrument.
I'm really quite perplexed at how such an easy exercise thing can have a positive effect on so many problems.
I just wondered if I could say in case it might help anyone else?
In case you are interested, here is how it works. The iQoro is like a rugby player's gum shield with a handle on it so you can hold on to it while it is in place. The idea is that you put it in your mouth and pull gently, while using the muscles of the lips to try to prevent it from getting pulled out of your mouth.
The the pull is meant to trigger all the muscles down to the stomach to contract or something, so they get stronger, or something like that. I am finding that it is working, although very slowly. I've literally been doing it on and off for two years.
But after two years, I find that the stimulation of the device also somehow speaks to my pelvic floor so that it is easier for me to contract that too at the same time. I also naturally stand with perfect posture when I do the exercise, so it's helping my posture too.
I just wondered if I could mention in case it helps anybody else, because it's not marketed as a device to help the pelvic floor but I think it really works. I think it might work faster if I did it more than two days a month (oops)
Thanks!
