Lump on back of hand

SwiftyMum21 · 13/09/2025 11:20

I had what I think was like a spot or a scab some up on the back of my hand. It scratched it or picked at it a couple of times as it was itchy.
Now it’s a visible lump.
Is it worth going to the GP to check it’s nothing sinister?

I think a nurse or PA type person at the surgery to start with - they’ll pass you on to a GP if they need to

That’s a good idea. I’m so conscious of not wasting GP time as I know so many are trying to get appointments. I don’t want to take up an appointment for nothing

Go and ask the chemist.

Send the surgery on online triage with a photo.

I’m not sure my surgery offer that: I’ll take a look online

Dont want to alarm you however friend had similar but maybe a more reddish tinge on her arm and it was skin cancer . When I seen the picture I was thinking it was something I would probably ignore as didn’t actually look sinister . It was . Get checked
