Probable "post viral"/heat rash...but in case it is not what else should I be looking for?

Noticed a rash across the bottom part of DD3s tummy today - right where the nappy goes across. I havn't changed nappies so don't think it is allergy/irritation due to that. It does look heat rashy - but hasn't been that hot today. It disappears under pressure. She also had red watery eyes and nose (which could be from tissue overuse)...just kind of looking ill and weary.

Then at bedtime noticed the rash is now on the front patr of neck and chest, going down her sides, and under her armpits. It is more intense in the hot areas (armpits and across the front of nappy)- and does (possibly) radiate a bit of heat in the denser regions.

She also had a temp of 38C at bedtime (which she has had nurofen for - she has just got over a snotty nose too.

So with all that in mind I am inclined to think heat rash or the generalise "post viral" rash. BUT is there anything else I should be considering/getting checked out?

(She has had MMR so not likely, but I appreciate not impossible, to be measles or rubella)

Does the collective MN silence indicate you all agree with me then? Nothing to worry about...

TY.

I am inclined to think it is nothing important....it is more the fact that it hasn't been especially hot today to be heat rash...

Well this morning she was covered from her ears to her thighs, with a temp of 38.6 and really puffy eyes.

GP diagnosed "non specific virus", to return in 3-5 days if no improvement or if it worsens in between....

Keep an eye on it though as my dd1 recently had scarlet fever and that had originally been dismissed as a virus. I think with measles they are pretty poorly and miserable so unlikely to be that (also not sure if eyes get puffy, more red and unable to bear bright light). If it is rubella the only thing to really consider is any pregnant women you know as it is very mild for children.

Yeah that was what the Dr said - she is not "poorly enough" for it to be measles but reading between the lines he wasn't 100% ruling it out. Conjunctivitis is a classic symptom of measles according to wikipedia...

Will see how she goes....she is bouncing around like a lunatic!!!

She does look as though she has sunburn though.

I have never (personally) seen a rash so extensive.
