Anxiety meds and epilepsy

I have epilepsy and was also diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder about ten years ago. I had cbt which was quite effective at the time but I’ve tried it recently again and it doesn’t really seem to help much now. Yoga calms me but I can’t exactly stop what I’m doing at work to carry it out!
My anxiety seems to have ramped up due to peri-menopause and I now feel it is time to speak to my nurse about taking meds for it. The trouble is that so many can’t be taken if you have epilepsy. I was wondering if anyone here is in my situation and what they take? I’ve seen pregabalin might be an answer.

I have epilepsy and have just started sertraline for anxiety. I happened to have a catch up with my neurologist who could not have been less concerned about it. Like you I had read that we couldn’t have anything due to epilepsy but she said it is a risk/benefit weigh up.

Thank you. It’s such a juggling act isn’t it? I’ve held back for a while but I think I’ve got to the stage now where I need something. Thanks for replying.
