I read in The Times that before 1996 blood donations weren’t tested for Hep C which is hard to diagnose but can cause liver damage. The NHS are offering a testing service - click on the link below and you get a home testing kit, You simply prick your finger with the tool provided and collect the blood in a mini test tube and send it off.
