When my relative dies, who does the person with him call?

He’s end-of-life at home, with “hospice at home” care.
should I/my brother call the hospice when he goes?

Sorry to hear about your relative. Yes I would advise you to call the hospice. I would also recommend you have a chat with the hospice team about what will happen when the time comes. It’s just so you can be aware of the process. A doctor normally has to certify a death.

Sorry to hear you’re also going through this, when my father passed away under the hospice team at home I had to call 111 and go through the usual questions which was very difficult. They then send a Dr out. My father was also under the community nurses but none of the ones working that night could certify a death. After the Dr had been I then called the funeral directors who were amazing and turned up 40 minutes later.

Thank you.
in our case the usual hospice number prompted a visit 30m later from the night team and the nurse confirmed the death.
