chicken pox & bloodshot eye - anyone?

So, ds now has chicken pox (dd's still scratching her scabs )

One of his eyes is bloodshot - not hugely, just at one side. It may be that he's bumped himself (he did have a mate to sleep over last night & there were the obvious bedtime shinanegans) but I'm sure I've read things on here about chicken pox & eyes. Have googled & found nothing.

Anyone?

it could be an infection - conjunctivitis but usually the eye looks red all over.

I think chicken pox spots can appear under the eyelids but I'd imagine that to be very painful!

Is he complaining about his eye?

Hum, conjunctivitis is a thought Belgo, although his eye doesn't look watery at all.

He's not complaining, no - a bit cuddly, but otherwise fine.

Aha, have just found a link that says chicken pox can trigger conjunctivitis

(Although it also has a scary bit on chicken pox damaging the cornea if spots come on the inside of the eyelid - so will spend the rest of the day annoying ds by pulling his eyelids around )
