Getting a plaster cast removed - how the heck do I get an appointment?

I have a plaster cast on my leg due to come off around 8 September. I’ve been trying to phone up for an appointment but I cannot get through to the hospital, just always on hold and no one ever answers.

For anyone who has been in this situation: did you get an appointment letter automatically or did you have to call up and request one? I think I’ll need an x-ray too otherwise they won’t know if I need a boot or not.

I don’t really want to be stuck in the cast longer than necessary and I’m worried all the appointments will be booked up

Don’t worry I’ve sorted it out 😂
