Any experiences of Roaccutane and anxiety?

Hi MN. DD has been on Roaccutane for about two weeks. Today she said she's feeling anxious and depressed - worried about her university work but simultaneously unable to work, and fearful she'll take up old bad habits.

She's been enjoying university up to now so I'm wondering if this can this be related to the Roaccutane. Grateful to hear if anyone else has experienced/witnessed this with Roaccutane.

TIA

Yes, it used to be well known for this, in fact older versions of the drug caused several suicides. It made me very depressed and emotionally unstable while I was on it 20 years ago. I think it's supposed to be safer now but it may still be a side effect?

My daughter was severely depressed on it a few years ago. She came off it and the depression resolved. It's a tricky drug.

Stick with it you are able to, my DS had it and after about 3 weeks it made a world of difference to the problem and his self esteem.

Thanks @purpleknickers - encouraged to hear it was only three weeks

Sorry I realise it's an old thread. How did she get on with it in the end?
